Fire and Life Safety Systems
To avoid hazards with fire and safety systems buildings are protected by automatic fire detection devices and fire alarm systems. Sri Saradhi Fire and Safety Systems protect every office building in Hyderabad by an automatic fire sprinkler system. When activated, it will control the spread of the fire and contain it and extinguish the fire.
Fire Alarm System
The Fire Alarm Systems by Sri Saradhi are monitored 24×7 by a well-trained team of safety personnel. The systems are, installed and supervised in accordance with applicable fire and building codes. The systems are maintained, and tested annually in accordance with applicable code. Smoke detectors are ceiling mounted in each room, stairways and corridors. The Horn type alarm warning devices are installed to alert occupants to a life threatening incident.
Sri Saradhi Fire and Alarm safety systems are located at every exterior exit on all levels of the buildings. Bedroom smoke detectors are programmed to alert the occupants if the origin of the smoke is in that room only. The system devices in the common areas such as kitchens, living rooms, stairways and basements will sound the building wide evacuation alarm.
Response time within minutes
Whenever fire alarm activation is transmitted response time should be 3 to 4 minutes. All public and private buildings are equipped with portable, multi-purpose, and dry chemical fire extinguishers. Sri Saradhi staff and executive personnel are trained to operate the fire extinguishers. Moreover, if the fire is small enough it is extinguished by its use.
Fire Sprinkler System
The fire sprinkler systems on all buildings are monitored continuously on CCTV located campuses. The systems are engineered by Sri Saradhi to avoid fire hazards in fully sprinklered buildings. They are controlled by two sprinkler heads; when the temperature reaches 155°, the fusible link releases water flows to control the spread of the fire. Only that sprinkler head will flow water when the temperature releases the fusible link.
Carbon Monoxide Detection
In accordance with the applicable code, all residential buildings that contain fossil fuel burning equipment are equipped with Carbon Monoxide Alarm protection. The detection devices are wall mounted within ten feet outside of any room on each level of the building unit. When the device has detected abnormal parts per million of carbon monoxide, it sounds a local warning.
Fire Doors
Sri Saradhi Fire and safety barriers play an integral role in preventing the spread of smoke, and fire from one area to another. Therefore, fire doors are fundamental because any time there is an open doorway; a fire barrier is temporarily broken. To prevent breaks in fire protection, fire doors must be equipped with proper latching devices. Sri Saradhi Fire and safety systems provide as much resistance as possible to the spread of fire, and toxic gases.
When fire doors are needed :
- Where a door has an ‘EXIT’ sign on it.
- Where a door leads to exit stairwells.
- Where a door leads to a hallway
Hazards to avoid with fire doors :
- Fire doors should never be tied by door blocks.
- Fire doors should never have their latched taped over.
